10 things learned by reading 125 books this year

From MELINDALITTLEBLOGS.COM comes this meditation on reading a lot of books in the last year:

Last year about this time I set a reading goal for myself. I planned to read 40 between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016 or a little over 3 a month.

Even though my friend, Cindy Clifford, says that it would not count unless it was an actual book, my rules were that I could read the paper printed versionion, the Kindle version or listen to the audio version on Audible or CD. My preference is a combo of Audible and Kindle since the apps can be used interchangeably; I could listen in the car or at the gym or when I was too tired to read, and then switch back to reading off my Kindle or on my phone from Kindle app. I also set the rule that I had to read at least four each month from various genres including biographies, classic literature, histories or leadership/self-help, and once I had done that I could reward myself with any kind of fiction.

Daunting Number of Books

I thought that 40 books was a daunting number of books, but I decided stretching myself would be good for me. Since I have probably read my last book for the year because I have some TV to catch up on during my holiday break, I thought I would blog about this experience. As of today I have finished 125 books. YES, ONE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE BOOKS! I am amazed I was able to do this. I often read two or three books a week, but it honestly was not hard to do. READ MORE
