DO A LITTLE DANCE, MAKE A LITTLE LOVE,
GET DOWN TONIGHT, BABY, GET DOWN TONIGHT

I’m at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, Louisiana tonight at the K C and the Sunshine Band concert three rows back. My wife and her friend put me next to an old strange guy that crowded the seat because I’m the asshole.

After we sat there a while I started cracking off to him, and he gave it back. I decided then that this was a guy I liked.

He asked, “Where you from?”

“Houston”

“I’m from Rosenberg.”

“Really?” I said, “The police there once suggested I leave there and not come back.”

“I’m a retired police officer.”

Small world.

That old man, a retired Marine as well as a retired Rosenberg Police Officer, was supposed to find me the next day on the beach. I promised to buy him another Jack & Coke. I’m sorry I didn’t see him.

I wasn’t hard to find-I didn’t move, much.

Thousands of people danced and sang every song with the band, it was more like a class reunion than a concert.
